1st August to 31st August 2018
Wheatsheaf Trust is a community-based charity working in deprived areas of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. They support disengaged young people from poor, challenging backgrounds, such as growing up in a workless household, children in care or leaving the Care system, as well as disadvantaged unemployed adults.
Wheatsheaf Trust advise and help by providing advice and guidance, mentoring, job skills training, advocacy (to resolve issues such as housing or debt) and direct job brokerage with their network of local employers.
Any money raised through this challenge would go towards purchasing refurbished bikes to provide clients with an alternative form of transport to access opportunities. This allow them to become more independent, and more able to access employment and training opportunities on the Island.
How it Works
Every kilometre ridden along the Cowes to Newport cycle path releases 10p from the sponsorship fund to Wheatsheaf Trust.
If the total target distance of 2,000km is reached by the end of the challenge on 31st August 2018 the amount released is doubled! The cycle path is about 5km long so to reach the target needs around 400 journeys.
- Each kilometre ridden raises 10p
- If the 2000km target is met the sponsorship money is DOUBLED
We’re thrilled to have A-To-There as our sponsor for this challenge. A-To-There is a transport and tourism consultancy specialising in delivering innovative travel experiences.
